Lifting Equipment Engineering Services

Lifting Legislation Requirements
UK legislation has long required lifting equipment to be tested and examined before first use and examined periodically throughout its life. Austin & McLean’s fully qualified engineers service and repair all types of lifting equipment for a wide range of clients across the South of England.

Statutory Report
Following a service, we provide a detailed report on the condition of the lifting equipment in accordance with statutory requirements and enclose a quotation for remedial works if required.

Breakdown Service
From time to time, even well maintained equipment can be subject to unforeseen breakdown. We will respond to your call within an agreed timeframe, ensuring that your downtime is kept to a minimum.

Testing Service
For your offsite testing requirements, we have two fully equipped test houses in Dorset and Cornwall backed up by satellite units in Oxfordshire and Hampshire. Our engineers will visit your site and carry out a range of testing services using test and water weights, test rigs and fully calibrated load measuring devices.

Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning Service
Ranging from the manufacture of special lifting devices through to the installation and commissioning of a full overhead crane system, this flexible engineering facility completes our comprehensive package of “in house” lifting equipment engineering services.

Safe Working Practice
We place enormous emphasis on safe working practice. All our work is risk assessed and our training & procedures ensure that our safety on your site is assured.
